- Abdominal CT scan
- Abdominal ultrasound
- CT scan-directed biopsy
- Cytology
- Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP)
- Percutaneous transhepatic cholangiogram (PTCA)
Blood tests that show abnormal function:
- Liver function tests (especially bilirubin)
