Prevent Leukemia for Your Child by Diet

Leukemia is the most common childhood cancer and is the most common in children under the age of 10. The stastics shows Asian countries have a much lower rate of childhood leukemia than western countries. The scientists  found that diet seems a factor create lower amount of childhood leukemia in Asia.

Acute lymphocytic leukemia

The lower amount of childhood leukemia was linked to turmeric in diet. This spice is commonly used in Asian cooking . Researchers said that the principle coloring agent in turmeric, curcumin, mitigated the effects of some of the risk factors.

Western parents could supply their children’s diet by cooking with turmeric or taking turmeric supplements to get these same effects.

In addition to turmeric, certain fruits could lower children’s risk of developing leukemia. These fruits include orange and banana. Oranges are full of vitamin C which is a well known antioxidant and is also known for its anticancer effects. Bananas contain a high amount of potassium, a mineral that has also shown to have some anti-cancer benefits. Children who regularly ate oranges and/or bananas during their first two years of life had a reduced risk of developing childhood leukemia.

Once your kid gets leukemia, green tea is a drink which may halt cancer progression. Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), the major component of green tea appears to have a powerful yet non-toxic impact on chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). Moreover, green tea and its compounds may help fight off cancers of the bladder, colon, esophagus, stomach and pancreas. In addition to helping prevent these chronic diseases, green tea can help clean the body of toxins.

In general, balanced diets can help you child have a reduced risk of cancers and all diseases.
