Cheerful breaking news for coffee lovers: coffee lowers endometrial cancer risk

Coffee – a favorite tipple to many people all over the world is now going to get the thumbs up. Breaking study shows that drinking coffee links to a lower risk of endometrial cancer among women.

Four or more cups of coffee may reduce the risk of endometrial cancer among women

It is not the first research outcome brings out health benefit of cups of coffee every day. A number of last studies reveal the connection between coffee drinking and prostate cancer in men, stroke, depression. And now, coffee is known as a guardian of women against risk of endomentrial  cancer.

Endometrial cancer, one of the common type of uterine cancer among women is caused by the increased estrogen level. While coffee has been shown to be able to lower estrogen and insulin levels, said the researchers about the benefits of this frequent morning cups.

The practical study made the conclusion clear: among more than 67,000 women, aged 34 to 59, involved in the Nurses’ Health Study, that women who drank four or more cups of coffee a day over 26 years had a 25% lower risk of endometrial cancer, compared with those consuming less than a cup a day; women who drank two or three cups a day had a 7% lower risk, reported the senior author Edward Giovannucci of the Harvard School of Public Health and his team.

Coffee contains powerful antioxidants (possibly higher than amount of antioxidant found in green tea) that may protect cells from becoming cancerous. The same benefits is recommended to decaffeinated coffee that there a 22% reduction of endometrial cancer for those drinking more than two cups per day.

Coffee,  obesity and estrogen

The three elements above are connective. Women with obesity have high risk of endometrial cancer. As a fact that the fatter a woman is, the higher estrogen level found. Higher level of estrogen has been associated with an increased risk of endometrial cancer. Accordingly, the dramatic effect of coffee on estrogen-lowering is clearly performed among obese women compared with lean women.

After all, there should be some outcomes recommended, right? Firstly, from now, women may consider about drinking more cups of coffee every day (up to 4 as studied); Secondly, it should be awareness of obesity turning into higher risk of endometrial cancer than less coffee intake, so that keeping a healthy diet and lifestyle to prevent obesity or to lose excessive weight if you are.
